Activity Director

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing engaging activities tailored to the needs of residents in our facility. Your focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for individuals with varying abilities, including those with dementia and other memory care needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for caregiving, particularly in long-term care settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that caters to the diverse interests and abilities of residents.
• Facilitate individual and group activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical engagement.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to create personalized activity plans for residents with specific care needs, including those related to dementia and memory care.
• Assist residents in participating in activities, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve the activities program.
• Organize special events and outings that enhance community involvement and resident enjoyment.
• Provide support and counseling on aging issues to residents and their families as needed.

Requirements

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a caregiving capacity is preferred.
• Knowledge of dementia care practices and memory care strategies is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team focused on long-term care.
• A genuine passion for enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful engagement.
• Flexibility to adapt activities based on resident needs and preferences.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
