Employer is seeking to fill (40) openings from 3/1/2025-12/31/2025 in Malin, Oregon. Worksites includes Klamath County.
Requirements: 3 months crop farming experience. All employees to obtain an Oregon regular drivers license with farm endorsement upon arrival, before starting work.
Employer Notes: Daily transportation to and between worksites provided at no cost to workers living in employer-provided housing. Housing provided to those unable to return to their permanent residence at end of workday. Employer provides all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned. Be available and indicate willingness to work the entire season and have transportation to the job site at the start of the season. Transportation will be reimbursed.
Job Duties (includes but not limited to): Seasonal employees are needed to assist with all aspects of raising these crops. These duties include the ability to operate heavy equipment independently (over 200 HP) to function as a harvest and planting season operator for a variety of crops, and be able to operate a manual transmission, drive a tractor while loading potatoes in potato truck during harvest, workers are to be PTO trained and able to maintain equipment including fluid checks and routine equipment checks. Have the ability to understand implements and appropriate maintenance, safely hook and unhook implements, and have previous Green Star GPS experience in a John Deer 8000 series or higher with knowledge of hydraulic functions. Work a varying schedule, including short notice of reporting to work and long hours. Work cooperatively with others to finish tasks. Drive and control farm equipment to till soil and to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops. Tractor driving is a solitary activity. Take direction at the beginning of the shift, operate slowly, asking for advice when needed, with a very high quality of work. Understand the end results desired and to work with the farm director or manager to achieve them. Employees will be responsible for keeping the equipment and tractor in safe working order including regular maintenance and informing manager when something needs fixed. Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of all equipment every day. Employees are subject to fluctuating temperatures that range from very cold to very hot. Job will include other duties as assigned.
