SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing a warm, loving, environment for babies and young toddlers that is orderly, well-run, and challenging for the children.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Toddler Assistant
- Assures toddlers feel loved and cared for
- Assists Toddler check-ins and check-outs
- Assist with feeding and snacks
- Must change diapers as needed
- Playing with and reading to the children
- Documents all activities and events
- Maintains cleanliness of toddler rooms
- Assure adherence to all safety protocols
- Removes all trash to an outdoor trash can
- Dust mop floors and vacuum rugs in assigned rooms at the end of each day
- May monitor children placed in the wellness room until parents arrive
- Maintains a healthy and safe indoor and outdoor environment.
- Models positive behavior, attitude, appropriate caregiving, and proper language for children.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must enjoy working with young toddlers
- Must have 1 year experience working in a childcare setting
- Must be current with required immunizations and TB test
- Must have patience and understanding
- Must be able to work your assigned 40 hours per week shift in the facility
- Must have a clear criminal background
- Must be drug free
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Attends center meetings, as well as training workshops
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, utilize hand and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
- Continually required to speak, hear, taste, or smell.
- May be required to sit on small furniture or on the floor.
- Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to blood-borne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
- The noise level in the classrooms or outdoors may at times be relatively loud.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- The position is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
