Key Responsibilities:

- Communicate with suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing on plumbing materials and fixtures.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates meet project expectations.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and compliance with codes and regulations.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals within deadlines.
- Monitor market trends and labor costs to update estimating processes.
- Assist in contract negotiations and change order pricing when necessary.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of five years experience in plumbing estimation, construction estimating, or related fields.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in construction management, plumbing, or engineering is a plus. Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., QuickBid, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Plumbing license or certification.
- Experience working with general contractors, developers, or mechanical firms.
- Familiarity with commercial and residential plumbing projects.
Working Conditions:
Estimators typically work in office settings but may also visit construction sites to gather information or assess project progress.
