At Gold Medal Bakery, we pride ourselves on hiring and retaining high quality people that showcase our core values of Integrity, Commitment and Caring in their work every single day.We seek a Cross Dock Manager to manage all aspects of the cross-dock program, including supplier selection, supply chain and performance tracking and work collaboratively with Procurement in price negotiation, ensuring each program aligns with business goals and cost targets.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL TASKSForecasts, drafts, implements, and oversees the cross-dock strategy, driving company goals.Manages relationships with new and existing cross-dock suppliers, helping source and onboard suppliers, negotiates contracts (in collaboration with Procurement for pricing) and ensures service levels and contractual obligations are met.Partners cross-functionally with sales, sales operations, order fulfilment, procurement and finance to drive speed to market while meeting sales, inventory and supply chain targets.Works collaboratively with sales and order fulfilment to ensure products are available without overstocking or understocking, minimizing excess inventory costs while preventing stockouts.Maintains knowledge on emerging products and services.Discover new local and emerging suppliers and brands to support growth.Supports execution of cross-dock pricing strategies, plans effective promotions and supports marketing initiatives for each brand or product.Ensures all cross-dock information is organized, updated and accurate for all stakeholders.Applies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex issues in purchasing, procurement, contract, distribution, quality and other issues related to each cross-dock supplier.Translates complex information, ensuring timely and accurate communication with all levels of the organization.Plays a key and influential role working with others, in groups, in cross-functional settings and with diverse stakeholders both internally and externally.Assists other employees as needed.Does not change job procedures without authorization from Supervisor.Performs all other related assignments and training of other employees as required.Always operates according to company core values of caring, commitment, and integrity.Every employee is responsible for ensuring the highest degree of food safety and producing a quality product by following the standard operating procedures and adhering to the quality control standards. Anything which negatively affects or potentially affects the quality of the product (including damaged or inferior ingredients and produced product) must immediately be resolved by the employee or brought to the attention of a Supervisor.QUALIFICATIONSWork Experience, Education, Preparation and TrainingBA / BS and 4-6 years’ experience in relevant sourcing, forecasting, brand management, supply chain or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Hands-on experience with product negotiations, buying or contract management required. Demand planning experience a plus.Licenses and CertificationsMust have a valid state driver’s license in the state of residence, active auto insurance and acceptable driving record.Skills and AbilitiesExcellent relationship-building skills are a must.Must have strong project management skills and analytic skills.Must be a self-starter; able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.Outstanding communication and organizational skills are needed.Must be able to work under pressure with stringent deadlines.Skilled in managing vendor relationships and resolving issues promptly.Solid Understanding of logistics, transportation, and inventory management is required.Must be Proficient in using data to evaluate supplier performance and make informed decisions.Ability to research and identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and market conditions is required.Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and customer service skills is required.Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software is required.Responsible proven proactive team player capable of taking initiative and making sound decisions.Independent Judgment and Consequence of ErrorsWorks under general direction and exercises a high level of independent judgment. Has a wide latitude for independent action. Errors would result in significant cost in time, money administrative confusion and customer / consumer relations.Contact with OthersInternalWorks collaboratively with other employees in Sales and Marketing Departments, Procurement, Finance and Logistics related to all cross-dock distribution matters.ExternalCustomers.WORK SCHEDULEWork schedule is on-site as determined by supervisor.PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTSMust be capable of exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time while driving or at desk work. Normal indoor lighting. Occasional travel is required.Mental and visual ability typical of administrative and data review and interpretation. Minimum visual standard for those preparing and analyzing data and figures, extensive reading and visual inspection for accuracy. Must be able to do basic math calculations to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide.Must be capable of moving up and down building stairways in a multi-level plant to complete various job assignments. Tasks require manual dexterity to use computer keyboards and various other office equipment. Tasks require reaching, sitting, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking and hearing.Must be capable of understanding complex instructions and communications.
