We seek a Transportation Operations Specialist with similar experience in the field of logistics/transportation with great excel skills to provide daily operations/administrative support to the transportation operations department.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL TASKS
Preparation and Training
Position is filled by appointment as determined by management. A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a similar role in the transportation/distribution/logistics industry is preferred.
Location Requirement
Must be able to work on-site in the Fall River, MA facility.

We seek a Transportation Operations Specialist with similar experience in the field of logistics/transportation with great excel skills to provide daily operations/administrative support to the transportation operations department.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL TASKS
- Daily coordination of all transportation activities, including 3rd party responsibilities, deliveries and backhauls.
- Serves as backup to dispatch for additional coverage.
- Organizes departmental files and maintains logs, charts and reports.
- Analyzes department KPI’s.
- Completes department reporting (Fuel, Mileage, maintenance, billing …etc.) on a timely basis.
- Assists with safety and DOT reporting.
- Files documents in transportation systems.
- Maintains and updates Transportation department policies.
- Promotes company policies, safety, accurate work and cost savings.
- Aids in the monitoring of damaged trays and racks to ensure that they are systematically removed from use, repaired and promptly returned.
- Responds to problems and seeks resolutions in a timely manner or elevates to a supervisor.
- Always operates according to company core values of caring, commitment, and integrity.
Preparation and Training
- Work requires a minimum of a high school diploma. College degree preferred.
- Strong computer skills required, including e-mail management and MS Office (Advanced skill in MS Excel required, including VLOOKUP and Pivot tables).
- Proficiency in Transportation programs is preferred. CDL license is a plus!
- Must be self-motivated with great initiative and ability to work independently.
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking.
- Ability to take ownership and be accountable for issue resolution.
