Job Description:
The Part-Time Pool Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the gym's pool and related facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure the pool is clean, safe, and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain appropriate chemical levels in the pool, including chlorine, pH balance, alkalinity, and other necessary chemicals.
- Regularly inspect pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and other related systems, to identify any issues or malfunctions.
- Assist with general maintenance tasks related to the pool area, such as cleaning and organizing pool deck furniture, maintaining poolside amenities, and ensuring cleanliness of surrounding areas.
- Ensure that all safety protocols and guidelines are followed, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), adherence to chemical handling procedures, and compliance with all local health and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of pool maintenance activities, including chemical tests, maintenance tasks performed, repairs made, and any incidents or accidents that occur.
- Interact professionally and courteously with gym members and guests, providing assistance and answering any questions or concerns related to pool maintenance or water quality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in pool maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pool maintenance techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations governing pool operations.
- Ability to operate pool maintenance equipment, such as vacuums, brushes, and chemical testing kits.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
