Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive exceptional care and support throughout their visit. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of dermatology terminology. Strong computer skills with knowledge of electronic medical records software is needed. Bilingual is a plus.
Duties
- Triage calls from patients, pharmacies, and primary care physicians
- Assist with insurance verification and explain coverage options to patients.
- Coordinate communication between patients, pharmacies, doctor offices, medical staff, and insurance companies.
- Respond to pharmacy requests for prescription refills.
- Call patients to report lab results, tissue diagnosis, and culture results.
- Log details of all patient communication in patient's medical record.
- Assist providers with patient care when needed. To include obtaining history/chief complaint, assist with biopsies and surgical procedures, patient education on treatment plans and medications, suture removal, dressing changes, and exam room set up and cleaning.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide administrative support as needed.
Requirements
- Proficiency in dermatology medical terminology is helpful.
- Dermatology office experience is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Use of electronic medical records software.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Previous experience in medical administrative support is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously as well.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent, and healthcare administration experience are advantageous.
