TITLE: MANAGER - FINANCIAL EDUCATIONSTATUS: EXEMPTREPORTS TO: VICE PRESIDENT- COMMUNICATIONS AND COMMUNITY RELATIONSDEPARTMENT: FINANCIAL EDUCATIONJOB CODE: 6322 PAY RANGE: $92,300.00 - $110,000.00 ANNUALLY   GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Financial Education Manager is responsible for the planning, strategy, and management of the Financial Education Program and leadership of the Financial Education Team for Golden 1 Credit Union. The person in this position represents Golden 1 Credit Union in the communities we serve and works to grow our financial education footprint and enhance our reputation as a community partner and leader. Primary components of the role include leadership, engagement, and professional development of the Financial Education team statewide. Strategy development and implementation of tactics to drive the success of the Financial Education program and member engagement. Content development and promotion using multiple vehicles including webcasts, podcasts, digital channels, applications, and media. Partnership with various levels of leadership to identify and launch new and emerging opportunities to drive awareness and knowledge of Golden 1 products and services. TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS: Develops and manages the Financial Education Program including managing facilitators and content designers as well as external vendor partners in the creation of a robust, dynamic curriculum that appeals to various learning styles. Leads delivery of Financial Education material via multiple channels and formats including: web, social media, podcasts, webcasts, and video; in-person via workshops and seminars; and via newsletter and promotional materials. Researches and works to evolve overall strategy for the Financial Education Program including competitive analysis, setting benchmarks, scalability, and reporting on successes or opportunities while constantly striving to make the program better, more efficient, and more convenient to our members and beyond. Presents seminars to general membership and public online and at various locations including schools, non-profits, branches, special events, etc. Works closely with marketing and communications management staff to identify and implement tactics to increase awareness of Golden 1's Financial Education offerings. Works closely with retail, lending, business, investments, and human resources management to develop relevant content and help achieve credit union goals. Ensures communication, positioning, and collateral/educational materials (i.e., presentations, handouts, etc.) are compliant and consistent with the Brand Promise. Identifies and anticipates financial and social trends and gaps; adapts and executes evolving financial literacy strategy.   Represents Golden 1 Credit Union in the community and attends community events as needed. Provides support in preparation of strategic plans and budgets for the Communications & Community Relations Department. Fosters a positive and engaging work environment for each team member by promoting skill development, coaching for improvement and growth, inspiring others through words and actions, ensuring positive employee morale throughout Golden 1, and embracing our mission, vision, and core values. Establishes and monitors staff performance and development goals, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, process e-time, and manage vacation and time-off schedules. Maintains a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position. Researches and writes reports and presentations to ensure leadership is informed of progress. Develops and maintains relationships with external vendors and community partners. Serves as media spokesperson as needed. Other duties as assigned. Develop and maintain an understanding of the pertinent regulatory requirements and risks inherent to job responsibilities, establish, and maintain control activities that mitigate those risks consistent with the Credit Union’s risk appetite, and ensure operational integrity and compliance with applicable regulations. PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS: Effective oral and written communication skills required to give presentations and perform other related tasks Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine, and telephone ORGANIZATIONAL CONTACTS & RELATIONSHIPS: INTERNAL: All levels of staff EXTERNAL: Members, community partners, 3rd party vendors, other credit union representatives   QUALIFICATIONS:   EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree required. EXPERIENCE: Five to seven years of experience in communications, consumer education, and/or community relations/outreach. Experience in the financial services industry a plus. Experience in creating content for and publishing content via social media/online tools a plus. Management and/or supervisory experience preferred. Experience leading remote team a plus. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills – must communicate effectively and persuasively with all levels of the Credit Union. Excellent grammar, spelling, copyediting, and proofreading skills. Strong working knowledge of current digital media platforms and best practices. Skilled in project/program management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must reside within the territory and market region they support. Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required. Corrected vision within the normal range. Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed. Ability to lift 40 lbs. as may be required though generally only at events held 4-6 times per year. Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc. Frequent travel by personal or public transportation to educate the membership.
