Golden Construction Services is a full-service masonry, steel, concrete, landscape and irrigation company servicing the North Texas region. We specialize in a broad scope of exterior construction for commercial and government projects.

The primary duty of the Steel/Concrete Estimator is to find new opportunities to bid and then accurately develop construction bid packages that are both competitive and profitable. This role drives the growth of Golden Construction and is key to us growing our business by 5X.

Your Responsibilities will include:

• Source new bid opportunities that fit our Target Markets and will be financially successful
• Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project/program at hand
• Select metrics to produce valid estimates
• Visit sites, buildings and venues to gather essential information
• Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data
• Analyze data and produce projections
• Perform risk analysis
• Prepare detailed bids for submission to appropriate parties internally and ultimately submit to customer once approved
• Select subcontractors and suppliers for each bid. Clearly understand and integrate their fees into the overall bid.
• Foster relationships with customers and key vendors (subcontractors, architects etc.)
• Submit $1-3 million in bids each week and follow up with customer through to contract award
• Track your own sales funnel and be accountable to meeting and exceeding company objectives
• Successfully transfer projects won to the assigned Project Manager
• Communicate with Project Manager on project progress for reference as you engage customer on future potential projects with them
• Track your own sales funnel and be accountable to meeting and exceeding company objectives.
• Timely and accurate reporting to owners regarding progress
• Maintain Golden Construction’s gross profit targets

Your Experience & Expertise Must Include:

• Decade or more of experience as an estimator
• Excellent communicator internally with staff and externally with customers, subcontractors and suppliers
• Capable decision maker with great attention to detail
• Proven experience as landscape estimator
• Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts
• Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis and estimation metrics
• Comfortable with numbers and technology
• Excellent knowledge of software like Bluebeam, Excel and Quickbooks
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities Well-organized and reliable
• BSc/BA in engineering, construction science or relevant field will be a plus
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification will be a plus
