SUMMARY:

Responsible for selling and arranging banquets and special events.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Orchestrates and arranges banquets and special events.
  • Schedules food servers, bartenders, organize bar and bar requirements.
  • Assists with room set-up for banquets and special events.
  • Provides personal service to clients in reference to banquets and special events.
  • Reserves and coordinates particulars for in-house use of banquet room.
  • Administrates all paperwork regarding banquet checks, tip allocations, banquet forecasts and collecting balances due.
  • Reserves and coordinates particulars for in-house use of banquet facilities.

Education

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Special Qualifications

Must possess excellent communication and organization skills. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management, staff, co-workers and general public. Pleasant personality, team oriented and enjoys working with and assisting people. Must be flexible to work different shifts.

This position requires Alcohol awareness card and food handler card

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write effective letters, memos, speeches, and articleLAs for publication. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from staff members at all levels, guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group, and large group settings. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.

Skills

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. A casino environment is typically smoky.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Three years in catering and banquet sales
  • Previous experience working in a team or group environment and able to interact with others in a professional and courteous manner
  • Proven experience providing high level of guest service
  • Working knowledge of general computer programs, including the MSWord and Excel
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • 2 years of college preferred
  • Able to functionally communicate occupational-based English, both written and verbal
  • Able to accurately perform intermediate math
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • Verify right to work in the United States

  • Nye County Liquor License
  • Driver's License
  • 10-Year Driving History

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
  • Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail
  • Vision, hearing, speaking (critical)

  • Constant walking, standing, frequently bend, reach, twist, squat, and kneel
