Description
SkyJump is a controlled descent, similar to a vertical zip line. The launch deck is located on the 108th floor of the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas, 855 feet above the Las Vegas Strip. Clients are harnessed in and attached to a cable that is connected to a “Descender Machine”. Once a Client “jumps”, guide wires keep the participants on target. Just before reaching the rapidly approaching ground, the participant is slowed down for a controlled and safe landing.
Summary: The Jump Master operates the SkyJump ride, performs safety checks, trains guests on safety procedures and assists guests with their jumps. The Jump Master also promotes a fun and exciting experience for the guests while maintaining a safe and controlled environment.

Essential Functions
- Provides outstanding guest service to ensure all guests feel safe and have an enjoyable experience at all times while promoting an entertaining, high-energy environment
- Operates the SkyJump ride and assists guests with jumps
- Ensures guests understand all applicable safety requirements and completes all safety checks prior to every jump
- Communicates effectively with guests & other employees throughout the jump experience
- Maintains familiarity with all attraction safety systems, including emergency evacuation procedures
- Performs safety checks and has a thorough understanding of all equipment used at SkyJump
- Notifies management immediately of any defective equipment or potential safety hazards and does not operate attraction until proper clearance is given
- Documents operation records as necessary.
- Maintains composure and directs guests in a safe and calm manner during any emergency situations
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must be able to work comfortably outdoors at extreme heights and in extreme weather conditions
- Prior experience that display the following: responsibility, maturity, attention to detail, safety, or outstanding guest service
- Candidates must have an ability to maintain focus on multiple tasks at the same time in extreme situations
- Candidates must have an ability to maintain poise and composure while performing all job duties
- Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
- Must have the ability to use the metric system (weights, lengths, etc.)
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Current CPR certification is preferred
- Due to the extreme safety requirements of this position, Jump Masters are subject to random drug testing

- Ability to work comfortably, calmly and with composure at extreme heights and in extreme temperatures and weather conditions
- Ability to frequently, effectively, and safely operate the SkyJump machinery, hold Jump participants in position and move groups of sandbags.
- Ability to frequently climb stairs, stand, stoop, bend, lift and turn
- Ability to walk and run
- Motor skills (must have good eye hand coordination)
- Vision, hearing, speech, and literacy (critical)
