Caregiver

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing support to individuals, particularly those with autism, in a group home setting. This role requires patience, empathy, and the ability to assist with daily living activities. As a Caregiver, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.

Duties

• Provide personal care assistance to residents, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
• Assist with medication management and ensure adherence to prescribed schedules.
• Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote emotional well-being.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cooking and cleaning.
• Support residents in daily tasks and encourage independence while providing necessary assistance.
• Document care provided and report any changes in resident conditions to the appropriate staff members.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including CPR training when required.

Experience

• Previous experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum is highly desirable.
• Background in patient care or social work is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with group home settings is an advantage.
• Basic cooking skills and knowledge of meal preparation are essential.
• CPR certification is beneficial; training may be provided if not already certified.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members are crucial for success in this role.
