Interim CASA Classroom Teacher

The Golden Hills School Division invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Interim CASA Classroom teacher at École Brentwood Elementary School in Strathmore, AB for the 2025/2026 school year.

École Brentwood Elementary School is a dual-track (English and French) kindergarten to grade 6 school. As a dual-track school, they are extremely proud of the diverse learning opportunities offered to their students.

The CASA (Child and Adolescent Services Assessment) Classroom Program is a treatment-oriented program that is a collaboration between Alberta Health Services, CASA, and school divisions. Golden Hills is hiring a teacher to join a multidisciplinary team that will support the mental health needs of grade 4-6 students in a school environment.

Qualifications Should Include

• Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
• Effective organization and classroom management skills
• Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
• Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
• Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
  
  

In addition to the expectations, we have for all teachers, the following skills and experiences are considered an asset:

• Experience working with students with diagnosed mental health or social-emotional challenges
• Experience in diverse classrooms with a wide range of learning and regulation needs
• Training in mental health literacy and trauma-informed teaching practices
