Job purpose

Under the direction of the General Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the successful operation of the surveillance shifts and staff.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
  • Communicate and implement dept. procedure in accordance with director and internal controls.
  • Assist in developing and implementation of surveillance department and equipment training and repair.
  • Monitors premises of all areas to detect crimes or disturbances, using closed circuit television monitors, and notifies authorities by telephone if need for corrective actions.
  • Completes surveillance reports and investigations for gaming commission and department head.
  • Trains and monitors staff to assure all gaming regulations and reports are followed, according to law.
  • Review staffing levels to maintain budgeted levels of employment.
  • Delegate authority and assign responsibilities.
  • Development of staff, interviews, hires, and evaluates. Manages programs to control and reduce loss time injuries.
  • Review surveillance room activities.
  • Meet with departmental directors and managers as needed.
  • Recruit, select, train, coach, counsel, recognize and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce excellence in business operations and guest service.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports, and employees as appropriate.
  • Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Safeguard the confidential information of all employees, department, and company records.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
  • Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five (5) years of experience in surveillance of a high-volume business or industry.
  • Four (4) year degree in a related fields or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to obtain a gaming license.
  • Must have solid decision-making, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced multi-tasking, hands-on environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationships with all individuals.
  • Must have basic skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime and irregular hours.

Salary : $52,800 - $66,800
