Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the “Company”) operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

Who You Are
You are a seasoned professional with a diverse skill set encompassing various aspects of mechanical maintenance and repair. Your experience extends to water/solution pump maintenance, small equipment maintenance and repair, and handling a range of tools and machinery. You can troubleshoot and maintain compressors and sustain equipment longevity through proper lubrication practices for small equipment and pumps. You have experience in welding stainless steel. You have experience in mining where you have applied your mechanical skills. You are an integral team member committed to fostering a culture of safety.
As a Plant Maintenance Mechanic, you would report to the Merrill Crowe Process Supervisor. This is a safety sensitive position.
What You Do
- Maintain, repair, and troubleshooting solution pumps and pressurized solution systems.
- Maintain filter presses, de-aeration towers, and booster pumps.
- Repair and perform preventative maintenance on various equipment including: screw feeders, mixer, chiller, retorts.
- Maintain pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
- Repair and fabricate tools and parts.
- Weld steel pipe and cut angles.
- Verify equipment manuals and reference cut sheets.
- Troubleshoot and maintain high flow solution systems to prevent downtime.
- Work closely with the planning department to schedule maintenance and complete work orders.
- Work closely with operators to help improve plant performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Experience with water/solution pump maintenance.
- Experience with small equipment maintenance and repair.
- Experience with all-around type maintenance.
- Knowledge of compressor troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Knowledge of lubrication on small equipment and pumps.
- Welding certification or welding experience.
- Able to weld on stainless steel.
- Mining experience.
- Able to work as an integral team member to safely reach production goals.
- Punctuality and good attendance.
- Able to follow instructions.
- Valid driver license required.
