Golden Queen Mining Company LLC is a gold and silver mining company operating in Kern County, California. We are seeking an experienced Process Operator to join our team.
About Us
We operate a conventional open pit mining method and use the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed ore. Our employees live in surrounding communities such as Boron, California City, Lancaster, Mojave, Palmdale, Ridgecrest, Rosamond, Tehachapi, and Victorville.
The Role
You will be responsible for performing the day-to-day operation of the Merrill-Crowe Recovery Plant and heap leach pad. This includes assisting in the refinery, monitoring and balancing solution flows, and performing inspections periodically throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Perform the day-to-day operation of the Merrill-Crowe Recovery Plant and heap leach pad.
- Monitor and balance solution flows from the heap leach pad to the pump box and Merrill-Crowe Plant.
- Install conveyance and distribution piping on the heap leach pad.
- Level crushed ore and construct roads utilizing track dozer on the heap leach pad.
- Ensure proper solution distribution on the heap leach pad.
- Monitor and optimize gold and silver recoveries using an AA analyzer.
Requirements
- Experience in heap leach and Merrill-Crowe operations.
- Experience with operation and maintenance of processing equipment including pumps, piping, clarifiers, and filter presses.
- Good computer skills.
- Effective communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
