Rossmoor Walnut Creek is a nationally recognized community for active seniors who are 55 and older. With nearly 10,000 residents in 6,700 homes on 2,000 acres, Rossmoor is a beautiful, serene enclave about 25 miles east of San Francisco. GRF’s approximately 250 full-time, part-time and part-time/on-call employees provide a huge variety of services including maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, landscaping, golf course maintenance, recreation, lifeguarding, fitness training, vehicle repair, accounting, insurance and purchasing.
Lifeguard Positions Available
The Golden Rain Foundation is recruiting lifeguards to work at our 3 beautiful pool complexes located in the gated residential community of Rossmoor Walnut Creek.
This position enforces facility regulations, policies and procedures; monitors swimmer and non-swimmer activities in pool areas; performs assigned maintenance in accordance with policies and procedures. This is a Part-time On-Call position, up to 19 hours a week, with no GRF benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Lifeguard’s primary function is to ensure the safety of residents, guests, and family members in the pool and pool area.
- Ensures Foundation policies and safety rules are followed; maintains appropriate discipline in pool areas; prepares incident reports as required, etc.
- When not actively guarding, welcomes residents and guests, answers questions about classes, schedules, policies, etc., pertaining to pools.
- Lifeguard duties include cleaning of pools, decks, equipment; maintaining chemical balances, etc.
- Other duties as assigned falling within the purview of the Fitness & Aquatic Manager.
Requirements:
- Applicable school district guidelines for students in high school strictly adhered to; must have a valid school work permit if under the age of 18.
- Current American Red Cross certification in lifeguarding, first aid, CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer are conditions of initial and on-going employment
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service, time and priority management
- Demonstrated excellence in teamwork and collaboration
Additional Requirements:
§ Clean and valid California driver license and satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment;
§ Ability to meet the Dept. of Homeland Security requirements confirming identity and right to work in the United States is required;
§ Offer is contingent upon satisfactorily passing pre-employment background check, Hepatitis B screen, drug test and physical capabilities assessment.
