We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning, maintenance, and general upkeep of both commercial and residential spaces.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming to maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.
- Execute floor care duties such as buffing, waxing, and polishing to ensure high standards of hygiene and appearance.
- Conduct custodial duties in accordance with established guidelines for commercial cleaning and industrial cleaning environments.
- Maintain equipment and supplies necessary for cleaning tasks; report any maintenance issues or repairs needed promptly.
- Assist with residential painting projects as needed, ensuring quality work that meets company standards.
- Support the team by performing porter duties which may include moving furniture or setting up spaces for events.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Experience
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or custodial roles is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment is advantageous.
- Skills in floor care techniques such as buffing and waxing are a plus.
- A strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential.
- Must possess a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills related to custodial services.
