Our nonprofit client is seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making. This role will manage the accounting team, financial reporting, audits, and budgeting for a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Accounting Operations: Manage payroll, AR/AP, general ledger, fund accounting, and financial systems.
Ensure Compliance & Audits: Lead annual audits, tax filings, and compliance with nonprofit financial regulations.
Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare financial statements, monitor budgets, and provide insights to leadership.
Optimize Systems & Processes: Improve accounting policies, internal controls, and financial workflows.
Cash Flow & Budgeting: Manage cash flow planning and oversee department and organizational budgets.
Leadership & Collaboration: Supervise accounting staff, support change management, and ensure financial transparency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
5-7 years of nonprofit accounting experience
Knowledge of fund accounting and government contract reporting .
Strong leadership skills with 2 years of supervisory experience.
Experience with nonprofit accounting software
Strong problem-solving, communication, and financial analysis skills.
