Job Description:
The Director of Facilities is responsible for overseeing all aspects of hospital facilities and infrastructure management, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment for patient care, staff, and visitors. This leadership position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operations of all building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems. This position also includes direct supervision of the Director of Environmental Services, ensuring the seamless integration of environmental management practices with the broader facilities management strategy. The Director will also manage capital improvement projects, implement energy-saving initiatives, and ensure compliance with all healthcare-related regulatory standards. Reviews and recommendations of approval plans for construction. Advises on structural changes, additions or modifications to buildings. Provides liaison between contractors, architects, engineers and suppliers. Administers preventive maintenance program. Provides oversight of Environment of Care/Life safety for Joint Commission accreditation. This employee will report to the Chief Financial Officer
Education/Credentials:
Minimum five years in facilities management required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Facilities Management or a related field. Preferred. A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in supervision/management of a Plant Operations Department, knowledge of Joint Commission regulations, facility buildings, equipment, and utilities.
