Job Description:
The primary purpose of a Processor is to assist in the direction of the Laboratory Department in accordance with current applicable guidelines and standards as directed by the Director of the Laboratory Department. Must also maintain accurate and complete records in the department.
Responsibilities:
Excellent attitude; excellent personal skills, especially in customer service; excellent communication skills, organizational skills, ability to multitask and problem solve; flexibility. This position will involve a significant amount of time standing, walking, and bending over patients when performing phlebotomy. It will also require running samples through instrumentation, verifying results, and identifying a limited number of cells under a microscope. Processing any paperwork that goes along with the specimens will be part of this job, along with working in a LIS - Laboratory Information System.
Education/Credentials:
High School or equivalent (GED)
1-3 years of hospital experience
Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain at time of hire.
A working knowledge of physician office laboratory processes; trained/certified phlebotomist; knowledge of Meditech computer systems.(Desired)
Starting Range: $17.42-$21.77
