Duties
- Supervise and train deli staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and customer service best practices.
- Manage inventory levels and assist with budgeting to ensure profitability of the deli department.
- Oversee daily operations including food preparation, cooking, and presentation of deli items.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide assistance as needed to enhance their experience.
- Utilize POS systems for transactions and manage cash handling procedures effectively.
- Conduct interviews and assist in hiring new staff members as necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service during peak times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary role or as a cook in a deli or restaurant setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate staff effectively.
- Knowledge of budgeting principles related to food service operations.
- Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques is a plus.
- Experience with POS systems for efficient transaction processing.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
