This is the perfect time to join our large and growing real estate company as a Handyman at Wavecrest Gardens, one of our residential communities in Far Rockaway, Queens. You will report to our Construction Manager and be expected to work Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. Additionally, you will be on call for snow removal when necessary.
*WHO YOU ARE**
You're able to troubleshoot and handle multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy and have a strong commitment to high building standards. Your primary responsibility will be to perform work in vacant apartments to make them ready to rent. You're a dedicated in ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of the property including the grounds, roadways, parking lots, outside perimeter, buildings, apartments, and all equipment (including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing).
Responsibilities of Handyman:
Performing all Apartment Turnover preparation to include but limited to the following tasks:
- Window repairs, screen replacement, faucet replacement, toilet repairs, vanity replacement, electrical fixture replacement, electrical outlet replacement, electrical switch replacement, caulking, hardware replacement, countertop replacement, cabinet door replacement, appliance replacement, window treatment replacement, air conditioner installation, air conditioner replacement
- Update and manage all assigned work orders through assigned mobile app
- Perform all other duties related to the proper upkeep and management of the premises
- Provide superior leadership to all building service employees under your direction by instilling strong customer service environment of professionalism, recognition, & growth
- Collaborate with management to ensure the highest level of safety, security, and services of the property
- Responsible for maintaining good resident relations
- Notify supervisors of ongoing and pending maintenance and safety issues
- Assist with snow removal. You must show up to work as needed to oversee, assist and supervise porters in snow removal.
- Responsible to handle any additional duties assigned by supervisor
Requirements of Handyman:
- Carpentry Experience
- Electrical experience
- Plumbing experience
- Must own all necessary tools
- Ability to successfully snake and clear a drain.
- Computer literate.
- Yardi experience a plus
- Minimum of 5 years management of Porters/Handyman/Security
- Positive CAN-DO attitude a MUST
- Spanish speaking a plus
- Appliance and HVAC a plus
