Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firm’s culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firm’s enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firm’s second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firm’s compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firm’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. Bank Compliance Overview
Goldman Sachs Bank USA (“Bank”) is a New York State-chartered bank and a member of the Federal Reserve System. Bank Compliance is a team within the Global Compliance Division and is responsible for executing overall strategy for and implementation of the Bank’s compliance program, a component of the firmwide risk management program. This includes program policy development and application, applying and providing advice on applicable Bank regulations, risk assessment and training.
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced compliance professional at the vice president level to support regulatory inventory and traceability activities, which entail executing compliance objectives across first- and second-line teams. The vice president will be responsible for evaluating regulatory requirements related to identifying and assessing potential prudential and supervisory impact and supporting linkages between regulatory requirements to the firm’s risks and controls. Experience managing regulatory change and mapping to internal controls with an understanding of banking services, products, and regulation applicable to non-retail banking operations will be helpful.

- Manage the implementation of regulatory inventory and traceability processes
- Align and continuously evolve strategy for mapping regulatory requirements to relevant parts of the firm’s risk management framework, including policies and controls
- Engage key stakeholders to assess regulatory changes and business changes impacting regulatory compliance
- Facilitate reporting and information sharing
- Represent Bank Compliance in first line and second line led remediation efforts
- Understand, apply, and provide advice on prudential banking regulations (e.g., Regulations O, K and W)
- Bachelor’s degree and 6-8 years of experience in risk, legal, compliance, and/or project management in financial services
- An understanding of prudential banking regulation
- Experience with compliance program mandates, operational risk frameworks, and regulatory change objectives
- Analytical, problem solving, critical thinking, and project management skills with a proven track record of execution against deadlines
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills in frequent interaction with other areas of the firm, in particular, senior stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and exercise strong judgment when executing an assigned task
- Experience in delivering high quality work products, reflecting attention to detail
- Capacity to multi-task and manage and advance multiple projects simultaneously
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills, with an ability to learn new tools quickly
