Optometric Technician/Scribe

Overview
We have recently expanded and moved our practice and are in need of another technician to join our group. As a very busy practice we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician/Scribe to join our team. In this role, you will assist the optometrist in providing exceptional patient care and support during eye examinations. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of optical systems, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

We will consider full or part-time candidates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for eye examinations by obtaining medical history and performing preliminary tests.
• Operate and maintain various optical equipment and systems, ensuring accuracy and safety.
• Assist in the fitting and dispensing of contact lenses
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
• Collaborate with optometrists to ensure seamless patient care and follow-up appointments
• Perform medical coding for insurance claims as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of Eyefinity systems is a plus
• Strong understanding of physiology related to vision and eye health.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on sales and patient satisfaction.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
• A passion for optometric services and a commitment to ongoing learning in the field.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
