Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and strategic Writer to join our team and help amplify the voice of Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship. This individual will be responsible for crafting compelling, mission-driven content that communicates our vision of empowering individuals to achieve entrepreneurial success. The Writer will create content that supports student recruitment, enhances our community presence, and strengthens our engagement with diverse audiences.
Success in this role will be measured in the ability to engage target audiences, increase student visits and applications, as well as positively influence awareness of Golisano Institute within the community.
This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
Develop and write content that not only informs but inspires action from key audiences, such as prospective students, parents, and community stakeholders across various platforms, including website, social media, digital advertising campaigns, collateral / brochures, and blog posts.
Uncover and craft impactful stories that highlight Golisano Institute’s unique mission, achievements, and student success stories.
Interact with students, faculty, and speakers to interview, capture and create content.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, including SEO and social media.
Voice Development
Write clear, persuasive, and original copy for a variety of mediums, including digital and print.
Ensure that all content reflects and supports Golisano Institute’s mission to be a national leader in alternative post-secondary business education, while maintaining consistency in brand voice and tone.
Optimize content for SEO and digital marketing best practices.
Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, admissions, academic department, and leadership, to ensure content strategies align with growth priorities.
Partner with subject-matter experts (faculty, staff, and alumni) to create accurate, impactful content.
Engage with students to create impactful content.
Editorial Oversight
Edit and proofread copy to ensure it is error-free and adheres to brand guidelines.
Qualifications Required
3 years of professional writing or content development experience, preferably in higher education or a mission-driven organization.
Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling skills, and a passion for developing content that promotes entrepreneurship and student success.
Ability to adopt and shape a brand voice consistently across various platforms.
Experience in digital marketing and knowledge of SEO best practices.
Proficiency with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
Preferred
Familiarity with higher education audiences and messaging.
Experience in developing creative projects from concept to completion.
Solid understanding of Associated Press (AP) style.
Knowledge of CRM tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
