This role will focus on identifying, acquiring, and managing funding and grant opportunities to support the company's civil engineering projects. The specialist will collaborate closely with project managers, finance teams, and external partners to secure the financial resources needed for infrastructure development, public works, and other civil engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of government, non-profit, and private grant programs, as well as strong proposal writing and project management skills.
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
- Identify federal, state, local, and private funding sources, including grants, loans, and other financial assistance programs, applicable to civil engineering projects.
- Lead the preparation, writing, and submission of grant proposals, ensuring alignment with both funder requirements and project goals.
- Oversee grant administration, including tracking deadlines, preparing reports, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with grant terms and conditions.
- Work closely with civil engineers, project managers, and financial officers to develop project narratives, budgets, timelines, and deliverables that align with funding requirements.
- Track grant statuses, funding opportunities, and awarded funds. Provide regular updates to management on current and potential funding.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, public policy, or a related field. A background in civil engineering is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in grant writing, funding acquisition, or financial management, preferably in a civil engineering or construction setting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local funding programs, especially those related to infrastructure and civil engineering.
- Excellent grant writing, proposal development, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with civil engineering project budgeting and financial management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and financial software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
