What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Team Lead position at Good Carbon Co.?
The Construction Foreman is a key leader within our construction team, responsible for overseeing and managing a crew of 5-6 laborers. Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent, the Foreman ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, and to the company’s high-quality standards while fostering a positive and productive work culture.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety:
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Train and equip laborers with proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Identify and mitigate workplace hazards promptly.
- Report accidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions to the Site Superintendent.
- Ensure tools and equipment are securely stored, and all site access points are locked at the end of the day.
- Maintain a clean, hazard-free worksite to prevent injuries.
- Emphasize safe driving practices during team huddles.
2. Quality:
- Ensure all tasks are performed according to the Site Superintendent’s instructions and company quality standards.
- Verify the availability of materials before starting scheduled work.
- Conduct daily quality checks to ensure work meets required standards.
- Promote a commitment to quality during team huddles.
3. Work Execution:
- Arrive on-site before start time to oversee and direct laborers during working hours.
- Ensure all required tools and equipment are on-site and operational daily.
- Assign tasks to laborers and monitor progress against the work path.
- Provide support and training to laborers as needed.
- Report issues, offer constructive feedback, and provide solutions to the Site Superintendent.
- Manage company tools, prevent loss or theft, and ensure they are in proper working order.
- Coordinate and oversee the tool check-in/check-out program.
- Set timelines and expectations for task completion.
- Ensure all workspaces are cleaned and maintained after construction activities.
4. Culture:
- Promote a positive and respectful work environment.
- Foster open communication with the Site Superintendent and laborers.
- Lead by example with a professional and encouraging attitude.

- Lead training discussions during team huddles.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in construction leadership roles, preferably as a Foreman or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and construction best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to mentor and train team members effectively.
