Summary
The Director of Stores directs the operations of our chain of cannabis dispensaries and provides leadership to the Regional/Market Managers, General Managers, and store teams. This position has a deep understanding of the cannabis industry, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing multiple locations to drive business growth, compliance, and operational excellence. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Provides strategic leadership to dispensary managers within the region.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing cannabis.
- Implements and enforces operational standards and best practices.
Financial Management
- Develops and manages budgets for each dispensary in the region.
- Monitors and analyzes financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Implements cost-control measures without compromising quality.
Team Leadership
- Leads by influencing and empowering General Managers to execute job responsibilities while modeling company values in all action, communication, and decision-making.
- Recruits, trains, and mentor’s dispensary managers and staff.
- Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Conducts regular performance evaluations and provides constructive feedback.
- Builds region-specific talent plans that prepare employees for upward mobility and expanded responsibility.
Customer Experience
- Ensures a consistent and exceptional customer experience across all dispensaries.
- Implements initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Addresses customer concerns promptly and effectively.
Inventory Management
- Oversees inventory levels and product assortment.
- Implements inventory control measures to minimize loss and maximize efficiency.
- Collaborates with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective replenishment.
Marketing and Sales
- Works closely with the marketing team to execute regional marketing strategies.
- Analyzes sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.

Compliance and Legal Affairs
- Stays informed about changes in cannabis laws and regulations.
- Ensures all dispensaries adhere to licensing requirements and standards.
- Collaborates with legal counsel to address any compliance issues.
Security and Safety
- Implements security protocols to safeguard employees, customers, and assets.
- Ensures all dispensaries follow safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Six to eight years of experience in retail managing multi-unit, high-volume stores.
- In-depth knowledge of cannabis regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and P&L management.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
- Experience in a similar role within the cannabis industry is preferred but not required.
- Ability to travel within the region as needed.
- Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to travel. Alternate sitting or standing at will. Proficient at typing. The ability to lift 15lbs at a time.
