POSITION SUMMARY
Maintain communication between the FOH and BOH, consistency in food, and restaurant appearance. Create an exceptional overall experience for guests and staff while upholding A Good Egg Dining Group’s mission to positively impact lives by building enduring memories and multi-generational relationships through a dedication to executional excellence, intentional service, extreme hospitality, and culinary trust.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Welcome and greet guests. Make guests feel comfortable and well taken care of.
- Answer the phone professionally and according to restaurant standards.
- Know restaurant standards, table numbers, wait sections, menu, specials, and be able to answer any question customers may have effectively.
- Learn the names and personally recognize our regulars.
- Monitor ticket times and maintain food consistency throughout the shift and on a day to-day basis.
- Communicate all requests and issues effectively between the FOH and BOH.
- Maintain the flower cooler and overall organization of its contents.
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and assist fellow employees as situations arise.
- Assist in pre-bussing, crumbing, and bussing tables where needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant including restrooms, counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.
- Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to restaurant manager.
- Assist in the restocking and replenishment of to-go supplies.
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
- Possess a basic knowledge of dining room service procedures and functions.
- Possess a basic knowledge of kitchen and health code procedures.
- Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work in high pressure situations.
- Be able to lift and safely deliver at least 3 dishes at a time.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
