What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gatekeeper (3rd Shift) position at Good Foods Group?
Job Summary:
The Gatekeeper is responsible for the material brought into the production room verification of the actual material matches the bar code and description on the Bill of Material, the actual material matches both bar codes on the pallet, the expiration date of the material, the condition of the packaging of the material, material is staged to the appropriate staging bin location, and checks that the actual pallet quantity coming into a room matches the quantity on the bar code label.
Job Responsibilities:
• Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free workplace Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
• Immediately issues materials to appropriate job numbers as the material is brought into the production room.
• Informs the Production Supervisor or Coordinator of discrepancies between the bar code quantity and actual quantity
• Runs variance report and compares material used to material staged and provides the information to the supervisor or the lead on a timely basis
• Assists Production Leads to ensure pallet quantities match tag quantities for any material returning to the warehouse
• Prints and monitors bin aging reports throughout shift to identify problems and resolves them immediately
• Suggests changes to procedures that may increase the accuracy of inventory Assists leads in ensuring the staging bin inventory is accurate at the end of each production shift
• Maintains area free of debris
• Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement
• Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed
• Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices)
• Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Additional Skills:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• GED or high school diploma is required
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications with proficiency in MS Excel
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and exhibit attention to detail
• Able to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
• Possess basic reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Have the ability to work independently and with a team within a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate and promote teamwork on a consistent basis
• Bilingual (English – Spanish) preferred

Work Environment:
• Individual will be subject to production and warehouse environment (Wet environment with temperatures ranging from 38 to 40 degrees)
• Medium/ High noise levels from operating machines and cleaning equipment
• Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts
• Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to enforce Good Food Manufacturing (GMP’S) processes
• Frequently required to use personal protective equipment when using any cleaning chemicals
Physical Demands:
• Able to hold stationary positions for extended periods of time
• Able to communicate information accurately to others
• Able to detect and discern sounds accurately in order to exchange information
• Able to move throughout workspace frequently
• Adjust self to stooping, reaching, crouching, and twisting positions on occasion
• Able to observe details at close range, perceive colored images as well as effectively perceive computer generated images on a screen
• Inspect, activate, operate, and position any appropriate machinery functions
• Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend
