What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carry Out Position - Garden Center position at GOOD NEWS GARDENING?
Garden Center Carry Out $14.70-$15.00 per hour
Full Time or Part Time– Weekends are required.
This position is an entry-level position that will conduct general garden center labor and loading of products into customer’s vehicle while giving great customer service.
Daily Tasks
- Loading plant and dry good material into customer vehicles.
- Unload, price, and set up signs for merchandise as directed.
- Move product and display tables within the Garden Center as directed.
- Help maintain and fix tables, carts, etc... as needed.
- Keeping the grounds tidy by leaf blowing, pruning trees, etc...
- Perform end of day tasks as directed by management.
- Perform any Garden Center job function as directed by store management including, but not limited to, customer service and merchandising, plant care, carry-outs, and general Garden Center housekeeping.
Required
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, regularly.
- Enjoy a fast pace of work, while being efficient.
- Enjoys hard work and being outside in all weather conditions (hot sun, wind, rain, snow).
- Self-starter from one task to another and can easily work alone or with a team.
- Able to work weekends and holidays.
- Dress code: Clean good condition t-shirt or polo shirt with jeans, pants, shorts. Work boots/shoes. No cut-offs. Layers for working outdoors including work boots, hooded rain jacket, warmer clothing on colder days with a possibility of needing a change of clothing on wet days. Sun protection including hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc...
- Friendly greeting and eye contact with every customer as they enter or pass you in the nursery.
- Be ready to help customers bring large items to the register.
