The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager is a critical role within our organization, responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring our food safety and quality programs. This position ensures that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety from procurement through to delivery to our customers. By working closely with our suppliers, 3rd party logistics, and manufacturing partners, the Manager will safeguard our brand's reputation and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Job Description:
- Develop and enforce comprehensive food safety and quality assurance policies, aligning with regulatory standards, including meticulous compliance with USDA label requirements.
- Perform audits of suppliers and 3rd party partners to ensure adherence to our quality standards and regulatory compliance, with a special focus on USDA labeling accuracy and compliance.
- Manage the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) plans, focusing on critical control points, preventive measures, and rigorous verification activities.
- Ensure the quality and safety of products throughout the supply chain, maintaining strict compliance with specifications and regulatory mandates.
- Lead the response to food safety emergencies or recalls, overseeing investigations, corrective actions, and stakeholder communications.
- Provide comprehensive training on food safety, quality assurance best practices, and regulatory compliance, including USDA labeling requirements, to internal teams and external partners.
- Remain informed on industry trends, innovations, and changes in regulations that impact food safety, quality assurance, and label compliance.
- Support the product development team to ensure new products are compliant with food safety, quality requirements, and USDA labeling standards.
- Handle customer complaints regarding product quality or safety, ensuring prompt investigation and resolution.
- Generate and present detailed reports on food safety and quality performance, including compliance with USDA labeling requirements, to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in food safety and quality assurance, with a strong preference for backgrounds in meat, seafood, poultry, or pork industries.
- Deep understanding of food safety regulations and standards, including HACCP, FDA, and particularly USDA label requirements.
- Proven track record with 3rd party logistics and manufacturing in ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with proficiency in training and team development.
- Skilled in data analysis and reporting tools.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
