Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).

Responsibilities
Provides assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing/undressing. Obtains and records vital signs, provides psychosocial support, and assists with meal preparation and dining. Assists residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment. Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident.
Qualifications
A high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) is preferred, but not required. Minimum age of 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is an asset. Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
