Nursing Assistant (NA) Role
The Nursing Assistant serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long-term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Responsibilities:
- Delivers age-appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs of residents, as per care plan.
- Assists with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and vital sign recording.
- Provides psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents.
- Transfers, repositions, and walks residents using correct transfer techniques and equipment.
- Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience for residents.
- Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains continuing education credits.
