Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Weekend Warrior to join our team at GSS NE Albion. This full-time position involves working every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a 12-hour day shift from 6am to 6pm.
About the Role
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to residents in long-term care, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The ideal candidate will have knowledge of age-appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs of residents, as per their care plan.
Responsibilities
- Provide basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate, and create a positive dining experience.
- Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed, and document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Assist with wellness and recreational programs and encourage residents to participate.
Requirements
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
