Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at the Good Samaritan Society in NE Bloomfield. As a CNA, you will serve as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods, providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of age-appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs of residents. You will be responsible for assisting with basic health care needs, including daily living activities, and providing psychosocial support to assigned residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Assist with basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
- Provide psychosocial support and other personal care to assigned residents.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate.
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
