Job Overview:
The Nursing Assistant plays a vital role in caring for residents in long-term care settings. This position provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining/recording vital signs.
- Provide assistance with meals and snacks, ensuring water and supplements are available as needed.
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Minimum age requirement of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing or state certified CNA within four months of hire date.
