Job Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. They must demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting and show competency in performing tasks within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge.
The LPN will ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents by administering medications or treatments as ordered, documenting resident interactions as needed, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. They must be able to work effectively with healthcare professionals and maintain effective working relationships with residents, family members, and healthcare providers.
The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse, Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred. They must hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
Requirements
- 3-month previous experience in Long Term Care required, 6 months preferred
- No contract required
