Job Overview
This role is responsible for providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse. The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and demonstrate empathy and compassion in their interactions with residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver resident-centered care and daily living assistance to assigned residents
- Assist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support
- Provide range of motion and passive exercises, assist with transfers, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care an asset
