Job Summary :
Definition of Shared Governance : Shared governance is a professional structural model, founded on the cornerstone principles of partnership, equity, accountability, and ownership that form a culturally sensitive and empowering framework, enabling sustainable and accountability-based decisions to support an interdisciplinary design for excellent patient care.
Essential Job Duties :
- Assess needs using appropriate and evidence-based techniques or instruments.
- Prioritize identified needs to address in a timely manner based on organizational and / or departmental strategic plan(s).
- Develop specific outcomes that reflect role competence and are based on current evidence, regulation, and stakeholders' values and goals.
- Collaborates with content experts to develop educational offerings reflective of stated objectives.
- Considers economic impact of educational activities and anticipated changes and utilizes available resources to assist in achieving expected outcomes.
- Coordinates implementation of planned activities and / or educational offerings to achieve desired outcomes.
- Promotes education to meet staff development needs using a variety of innovative strategies to meet the needs of the learner or target audience.
- Serves as a mentor and / or coach for peers and facility staff members to promote learning and professional development throughout the organization.
- Actively participates and provides professional representation on organizatioal committees, councils, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and licensure when planning and implementing learning opportunities.
