Good Shepherd Food Bank is seeking a Chief Financial Officer, to be based in either their Auburn or Hampden office location with the option of occasional remote work. The CFO is a pivotal role within the organization, serving as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. The CFO will play a crucial role in planning the strategic direction of the organization and will work closely with various teams to align financial strategies with the mission of the food bank.
Responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organization's mission and goals.
- Manage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and other financial systems.
- Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process, working closely with program managers and other stakeholders to develop realistic and achievable budgets.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasting models that support long-term financial planning and decision-making.
- Develops the organization's short- and long-term risk management strategy and ensures that processes and controls are in place to ensure compliance.
- Work closely with the Executive Director and senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans and goals that support the organization's mission and vision.
- Lead the Finance Committee, collaborating with other committee members to provide strategic financial guidance and support to the organization.
Requirements
Requirements of the Chief Financial Officer:
- Progressively responsible work experience managing the accounting and finance functions in a non-profit agency, or equivalent experience. CPA, CMA, or MBA with accounting experienced preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal interpersonal and negotiation skills, ability to establish and maintain effective external and interdepartmental communications and relationships, including staff, Board and funders.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management, and forecasting methods.
- Hands-on experience with accounting and financial management software, Oracle NetSuite strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain financial terms in simple language.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Salary : $125,000 - $165,000
