Good Shepherd is looking for someone to join our Children, Youth and Family team as a part-time Administrative Assistant. This position is part of a dynamic team working together to foster faith development amongst the younger members of the Good Shepherd congregation. This position is charged with organizing the programs, communication, volunteers and supplies to support the ministry work of the Children, Youth and Family team, working alongside Sarah Iverson, Director of Spiritual Development & Youth Director. Responsibilities
- Administrative Support:
a. Assist with day-to-day tasks to support the work of the CYF ministry team.
b. Prepare documents, program calendars and materials.
c. Order, maintain and manage program supplies.
d. Organize files and records.
e. Prepare registration materials and track registration for CYF programs.
f. Develop and maintain volunteer rosters and assignments.
g. Based on curriculum and plan provided by the ministry team, prepare materials for weekly church school and disburse lesson plans to assigned teachers.
- Communications:
a. Prepare email, church bulletin and newsletter communications regarding CYF activities.
b. Work closely with the Communications Team to ensure proper communication of CYF programs, in keeping with Good Shepherd’s goals and standards.
- Event and Travel Coordination:
a. Assist in planning and coordinating CYF events and activities.
b. Coordinate travel logistics for middle and high school retreats, along with summer high school ministry travel.
- General Duties:
a. Maintain effective communication with fellow staff members and pastoral leaders.
b. Active participation in staff meetings and congregational committee meetings, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Strong organizational and clerical skills
- Willingness and ability to become proficient in use of the church database
- Familiarity with social media to post ministry announcements and event details
- Communication skills and ability to speak with people of all ages and abilities
- Basic financial skills, including ability to develop and adhere to a budget
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
