Overview
The Program Director at Roosevelt YABC will implement and oversee youth development, educational, social, and work support program, for 200-250 students annually, including planning and coordinating program components, including Learning to Work component; extensive collaboration with Department of Education personnel.
Reports to: Vice President, Education Vocation
Location: 500 East Fordham Road, Bronx, NY10458
Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt
School Year Schedule (Monday - Thursday, 1pm to 9pm / Friday, 8am to 4pm)
Summer Schedule (Monday - Friday, 8am to 4pm)
Salary: $65,000 to $70,000
Major Duties:
- Oversee administration and development of the program, including budget management.
- Supervise all staff and day-to-day program operation.
- Maintain close collaboration with AP and other DOE staff.
- Foster team building through staff meetings, training and other activities.
- Develop relevant resources and linkages.
- Ensure contractual requirements are met.
- Participate in program evaluation activities.
- Implement school wide events, trips and groups.
- Carry small caseload if needed.
- Write statistical and narrative reports as required.
- Meets regularly with staff to discuss curricula, program challenges and successes, mechanisms for evaluating the work, internship development, and further program development.
- Works with Internship Coordinator to develop mechanisms for well-integrated employer participation and to generate ideas for new internship development.
- Works with Vice President to collect and analyze all required information on programs for reporting and evaluation
- Work collaboratively with other YABC programs on events, programming and on achieving positive participant outcomes
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BA and at least 5 years of relevant school-based experience required. MSW/MA encouraged to apply.
- Some Supervisory Experience with staff/young adult population in school, vocational, or employment setting required.
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Must have excellent organization skills and written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
