Join to apply for the Program Director - Downtown BK YABC role at Good Shepherd Services .Reports To : Sr. Vice President, Brooklyn YABCs & Post-Secondary ProgramsLocation : Downtown BK YABC at Westinghouse HS 105 Tech Place, Brooklyn, NY 11201Hours : 35 Hours / Week; ExemptSalary : $65,000 - $72,000 / Year BenefitsJob Summary : The Program Director oversees the Young Adult Borough Center (YABC) located within George Westinghouse High School in Downtown Brooklyn. The YABC is a youth development, educational, social and work support program supporting 250 students ages 17-21, annually, including planning and coordinating program components and extensive collaboration with Department of Education (DOE) Personnel.Major Duties : Supervise administration and development of the YABC program.Supervise, train, and evaluate staff of the YABC.Develop and maintain a strong rapport with program participants and community / school-based partners.Collaborate with Good Shepherd Services and external programs to identify participants for the YABC.Maintain close collaboration with Assistant Principal and other NYCPS staff.Foster team building through staff meetings, trainings, and activities.Develop relevant resources and linkages for participants.Recruit and enroll youth to the YABC.Actively participate in supervisory and team meetings on a weekly / bi-weekly basis.Attend NYCPS and other external partner meetings to collaborate for the benefit of increasing opportunities, access and resources across academic, employment and social emotional learning spheres.Participate in internal committees, workgroups, focus groups and / or director level groups that often address larger agency needs as it regards program, staffing, and performance / competency frameworks.Ensure that contractual requirements are met.Participate in program evaluation activities.Implement program wide events, trips, and groups.Create a budget plan that aligns with proposed fiscal forecasting and monitor spending throughout fiscal year to ensure monies are going towards proper student and programmatic needs.Carry a small caseload of participants, when necessary.Perform statistical, narrative, and record keeping duties as required.Collaborate with the Good Shepherd Services support departments to analyze data and outcomes for the programs.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or similar field required. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or other related fields preferred are encouraged to apply.Experience with the young adult population in a school, vocational, or employment setting required.3 years of experience in program administration, development and supervision a plus.Knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice a plus.Knowledge of and passion for Racial and Social Justice a plus.Must have excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.Must be able to work evenings during the school year (Sept-June).Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and / or youth, family, and community development perspective.Seniority level : DirectorEmployment type : Full-timeJob function : Business Development and SalesIndustries : Non-profit Organizations#J-18808-Ljbffr
