Job Summary :
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing safe and efficient field operations at assigned job sites. This role ensures all work aligns with company policies, procedures, and safety programs while maintaining productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities :
Technical : Means / Methods
Demonstrate technical proficiency in one or more construction disciplines (excavation, pipe, concrete, paving, grading, mechanical, etc.).
Supervise project teams and schedule manpower and equipment as required.
Manage deliveries from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure safety, cost control, scheduling compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Technical : Delay-Free Production / Quality
Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
Plan and direct work to maximize equipment utilization and minimize downtime.
Communicate productivity metrics, quality standards, and daily performance goals to project teams.
Prepare job sites for the next phase of work and conduct daily project meetings.
Safety
Follow and enforce company safety programs, including pre-planning to identify risks and ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Secure necessary safety equipment for all team members to maintain a safe work environment.
Conduct thorough site inspections and enforce safety compliance for employees and subcontractors.
Leadership & Supervision
Coordinate with field managers, superintendents, and customers to implement project plans successfully.
Provide on-the-job training and development for project teams.
Set and communicate performance expectations for productivity, quality, and safety.
Maintain documentation on project performance and provide input on promotions and salary recommendations.
Administer disciplinary actions as necessary, consulting with management as needed.
Promote teamwork, motivation, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Communicate and enforce company policies, procedures, and expectations.
Administrative : Contract, Scheduling, and Budget
Understand and apply contract terms and conditions to project management.
Address customer concerns and clarify contract questions with the project team.
Develop and implement project schedules to ensure workflow efficiency.
Review pre-job checklists and communicate potential issues to the project team.
Monitor and interpret project cost reports and maintain cost efficiency.
Accurately complete project documentation, including change orders, purchase orders, and daily reports.
Maintain adequate control over materials and supplies.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Supervise project personnel, including laborers, equipment operators, and subcontractors.
Oversee subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; additional construction-related education preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of construction experience in at least one trade discipline (excavation, pipe, concrete, paving) with at least 2 years of project management experience preferred.
OSHA 10-hour certification required.
Valid driver’s license required.
