Goodman Manufacturing, a member of Daikin Industries has immediate openings for Assemblers and Production Operators located at 19001 Kermier Road, Waller, Texas 77484.
The Assemblers and Production Operators responsibilities may include; lifting, loading, transferring of product/materials, operating machines, presses, fabricating, painting and assembling materials, parts and goods on assembly lines or designated workstations. May use hand tools, wires, etc. to produce and deliver a quality product in a timely manner for internal and external customers. Eliminates scrap and additional costs using zero defects methods. Always work in a safe manner following the safety policies, housekeeping and environmental policies and work instructions. Responsibilities
May include;
- Assemble / install materials, parts and equipment on assembly lines or designated workstations accurately, thoroughly to approved specifications
- Potential tasks may include, but not limited to: Shooting screws, putting lids on boxes, scanning inventory, install wires, compressors, tops, panels, other general assembly tasks
- Lift, load, hang, and/or transfer parts and products repetitively while ensuring to maintain safe work practices
- May operate machines to form, fabricate, paint and assemble parts
- Ensure all parts and materials used to match bill of material
- Identify and eliminate scrap and additional costs using zero defects methods
- Work in a safe manner following the safety policies, housekeeping and environmental policies and work instructions
- Inform supervisors of any part or equipment defects to ensure prompt response to the problem
- Ensure work is meeting quality standards
- Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste
- Always wear/use required personal protective equipment
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow and comply with all safety and health regulations
- Perform other duties assigned by team leader or supervisor
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to operate air and hand tools, wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchets and screw guns
- Ability to perform duties with efficiency, safety, high quality and timely following work instructions to meet production requirements
- Attention to detail and basic math / counting skills
- Ability to interpret and follow work instructions including all safety policies
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to get along well, communicate timely and accurately with co-workers, supervisors and team leads
- Ability to pass in-house training program
- Good eye/hand coordination
- Requires physical labor and repetitive movement including lifting, loading and moving product
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to stand long periods of time, 8-10 hours a day
- Ability to work 2nd & 3rd shifts, overtime as needed, including working up to a 5 to 7-day work week occasionally and/or during peak season
Experience:
- Previous manufacturing experience is preferred
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Physical Requirements / Working Environment
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. High volume manufacturing environment with forklift traffic. May have higher noise volume in areas – hearing protection required. Requires ability to stand for long periods up to 8 to 10 hrs.
