Description
Job Objective:
To assist the supervisory staff in the day-to-day operation of salvage outlet production area. The Salvage Outlet Production Group Lead is responsible for supervision of the Production area, including the tippers, gauntlet and trash areas. This position reports to the Transportation Outlet Manager and the Salvage Outlet Manager and who will evaluate performance annually.
Essential Job Functions:
- Knows and understands the Goodwill Mission: “Strengthen communities by empowering individuals and families through education, training and job placement.”
- Assist in the day-to-day floor operation of assigned departments.
- Monitor employees in the production areas (tippers, gauntlet and trash) making sure each employee is doing assigned job correctly.
- Oversee rotations.
- Complete and turn in daily production tally sheets.
- Work to maintain good employee morale and discipline in the department.
- Work with Salvage Outlet Manager to issue discipline, including composing coaching plans and warnings, as needed.
- Must stand, lift and work at least 8 hours per day.
- Must consistently use good people skills with all levels of personnel and clients.
- Carry out established organizational and departmental policies as described in the Employee Handbook in the absence of the Salvage Outlet/Transportation Outlet Manager(s).
- Follow the dress code and wear designated identification as provided.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Learn all jobs in department and train others to do those jobs.
- Cope with the pressures of meeting production quotas.
- Must have a sensitivity to, and an understanding of the needs of persons with disabilities and/or persons with economically disadvantaging conditions.
- Must be able to pass drug screen and random drug tests thereafter.
- Results of limited criminal history check must meet company standards.
