Our Retail District Manager position supervises 4 Retail Store locations and 1 Production Processing Hub in our district.
Our stores open at 9am and close at 8pm, early mornings and late nights will not be a regular part of your schedule.
Most weeks you will be able to work a Monday through Friday schedule, with a few exceptions for planned events or to help a location with a project.
In your first year of employment you will have 4 weeks of paid time off. It begins accruing on day one and is available after 90 days. We have paid holidays and our stores are closed on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day so you won't have to spend those holidays at work.
Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance are available the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Purpose or General Objective:
To assist the Retail Director in the day to day supervision and operations of a selected group of retail stores. The achievement of sales goals while operating within a given budget.
Essential Duties:

Continually serve as a positive role model for all associates, participants and customers working with Goodwill.
- Appropriate and professional verbal communication, appearance and behavior.
- Comply with and enforce all agency policies and procedures, including Code of Ethics.
- Provide a high level of customer service.
- Continually support and work cooperatively with all members of retail and upper management as well as all other departments within GICMH.

Responsible for all human resources management training and scheduling of store personnel.
- Recruitment, hiring and training.
- Provide store management and staff the training they need to perform their jobs.
- Performance Appraisals.
- Maintain updated associate and participant files.
- Corrective Actions.
- Responsible for store sales, ensuring store managers are obtaining sales goals while operating within given budgets and maintaining desired profit levels.
- Responsible for the creation and enforcement of stores monthly production plan.
- Review and respond to customer complaints in a professional manner.
- Provide leadership and training on store presentations, signing and merchandising to obtain desired goals.
- Assist Retail Director in the development of annual budgets and marketing plan for retail stores.

Oversee cash control procedures and ensure they are being followed.
- Daily cash count sheets
- Bank Deposits
- Register transactions.
- Investigation of overages and shortages.
- Ensure weekly rotation policies are being followed at store level.
- Ensure stores are opened and closed on time with appropriate staffing levels.

Responsible for complete and accurate information being reported to corporate headquarters.
- Daily sales/cash received reports
- Time cards/ Month End hours
- Weekly production and donation reports
- Availability to meet operation needs.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to respond to alarm and emergency calls
- Ability to attend all scheduled retail training and meetings
- Monitor to ensure that all safety procedures are being followed.
- Train managers and associates on policies and procedures
- Ensure reports are completed and turned in on time.
Additional Duties:
- Other duties as assigned by Retail Operations Manager.
Results Expected:
- Ability to work productively without close supervision.
- Ability to make stores under his/her supervision profitable and fulfill Goodwill’s mission.
- Ability to create and implement controls and guidelines to ensure maximum performance from store management.
- Maintain confidentiality of participants, associates, and agency information.
- Ability to meet and exceed store production and sales goals.
- Develop a strong management team that maintains a high level of customer service.
Work Experience Requirements:
- Four years of supervision required, preferably in retail
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business is preferred; High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Other Requirements:
- Strong organizational, computer and communication (written and verbal) skills required.
- Strong problem solving and multi-task supervision skills required.
- Ability to supervise multi-site locations.
- Provide own transportation and adequate insurance for such. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s liability insurance provider.
- Ability to reach, bend, twist and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
This person would be overseeing a handful of retail store locations in our territory. District Managers rotate through various stores so the exact territory is not always the same.
